This photo was my favorite in the set. Happiness on a Saturday afternoon
This time in Shibuya Streets I wanted to change the camera viewpoint and give you something fresh to look at. To do this I took some shots in black and white. There are some nice shots showing the fashion and relaxed atmosphere of people.
Some nice hats in the background here as friends cross the road talkingThere are so many casual fashions in Shibuya, that all look goodPlenty of people heading over to Center-gai for a stroll through Shibuya
Center-gai is always popular for people to walk down and up into the top end of the Shibuya shopping area. You can pass through Center-gai for Tokyu Hands, up towards HMV, Loft, Parco and then further up meeting up with Koen dori to to NHK and Yoyogi Park.
Mobile phones in hand, straps with character goods. Shibuya fashion on the streetsThe bus is directed into its spot. Tokyo 2016 Olympic banners on the frontSharing good times with friends. What type of fashion will her child claim for the next generation of Shibuya youngRoute 246 runs alongside Shibuya Station on the other side from Center-gai. If you follow the road straight you can get to Roppongi
The weather was so perfect today. The Autumn breeze was present bringing a fresh feel, but the sun was also out in force allowing people to wear their summer fashions again before it gets cold.
Sunglasses were a handy item today with the sun out giving us a final reminder of summerMore hats and more smiles. The weather combined with Shibuya fun had everyone in a good moodHave a Dream? Center-gai advertises 'Ganbare Sendai'This guy is selling mobiles, softbank and Docomo. The dog is Softbank's mascot. In the commercials he is referred to as Otosan, or father, of a rather culturally mixed familyAnyone want to buy some shoes. ABC Mart has plenty for sale
It was fun to get out and shoot some black and white pictures with the digital camera. I have been trying a few different things with the Nikon D700 since I got it and have been pleased with the results. I am hoping to get some new lenses and further experiment with different photo formats and scenes.
As the crowd clears the road gives way to the many shop signs, looking back here to Shibuya Station
I would really like to know what you think of the black & white photos compared to the color ones? Also to know which photos remind you of your time in Japan or make you want to visit?

I prefer your color photos. B&W photos can be stunning if used appropriately, but they don't really fit your subject matter imo.

Always good to get feedback. Thanks. I will be out today and take some more color photos. :)

I like black & white and always in sets like this, I don't like when they're mixed up with colored photos. :)

Thanks. I have had a mixed response to the black and white. Some people like them, some don't. My favorite is the first photo, the rest not so bothered about.
I'll try some again later in the year, in a different setting.
Appreciate your comment, and just checked out your blog again at http://yonasu.com . Looking good :)

I like the low aperture close up people shot's in black and white because they keep your attention at Tokyo's fashion and your not distracted by shibuya's flashy colors. The city shot's would be better in color imo, maybe other parts of Tokyo go better in black and white.

btw, the girl left in the fifth picture reminds me of my time in Japan and makes me want to visit :p

I agree with you. Trying to mix two different subject matters in the one set here, maybe

I walked this place, My first day in Tokyo was:
Shibuiya >Roppongi > Hibiya > Ginza > Nihombashi > Akihabara > Ueno.
By the way, the best walkday ever in my life until now.

That's a long but awesome walk. I walked one night from Shinjuku to Roppongi in the snow and still remember how great it was :)
