One thing which you often find in the convenience store is a corner stocked with bites to go down with beer or Japanese sake. Otsumami (おつまみ) usually give me the image of old men sitting around sipping sake and eating dried squid or beef jerky. Lets have a look at some of the offerings here.
Photo dataCameraApple iPhone 3GAperturef/2.8Taken9 Nov 2009, 12:15There are plenty of choices here for Otsumami おつまみSpicy beef jerky and dried squid at 105 YEN a pack. Somebody pass the sake pleasePhoto dataCameraApple iPhone 3GAperturef/2.8Taken9 Nov 2009, 12:15Time for some more squid. Can anyone identify these? Have you tried them before?Cheese sticks and some more ika. Looks like a popular item
Ok, if you are not into Japanese sake, then you will need something to wash down all that beef jerky and dried squid. How about a bottle of Cassis Fanta from New Zealand to get things going.

Lots of variety this week from my friendly Family Mart store. What's your favorite type of product? Are you more into the chocolates or is your thing otsumami? Do you like to find a cold drink or are you looking for some hot ginger tea?

I love dried squid. They make great companion for some after dinner snacks and beer while you chat with your friends.

Oh beef jerky it's been too long! xD
Though in reality most of the time I'm happier snacking on chocolate ^^
