Hotel New Grand, Yokohama

On my recent trip to Yokohama, we stayed at the New Grand Hotel, opposite Yamashita Koen. We picked the spot to stay for 2 nights before moving over to the Minato Mirai area hotel, because it was near the park, right on the old Port of Yokohama and contained a lot of history.
Of the many famous people to stay at the hotel, General Douglas MacArthur and the Emperor of Japan are amongst the most well known, although they did not stay there at the same time. Charlie Chaplain and Babe Ruth were also reported to have stayed in the hotel.

You can see more of the history of this great landmark in Yokohama at their official website.
Overall the stay was quite nice. The service was good, although the hotel was a bit smoky. Its location is right next door to ChinaTown.

Checked the prices. I thought they'd be a bomb coming with a nuclear bunker on a side. But it's just about as any good hotel. Plus view :) and some history. Great place!

nice picture. Really like that snow. I have to think about heading to snow country for some pictures myself. Kyoto in the snow would be grand. :)
