Tokyo Snow

It doesn't snow in Tokyo very often during the year, maybe once or twice. When it does snow it is normally in February or March, sometimes even in April. Since the snow is rare, people are excited to see it and want to venture out for a closer look.

I had noticed the lack of snow in Tokyo in a few movies, especially when someone comments on traveling north and comments on the fluffy powdery stuff everywhere. This is the first winter I've tracked the weather in Japan - is Tokyo usually this mild in winter? Apart from the freak snow day of course :)

Must have been great. If you had still there your nieces and nephews... have a pipe in some drawer just in case :) Last time I made a snowman with friends we did a 2m (ca. 6.4 feet) one, the head fell off with the last pat of snow... We were like 10 to 12 yrs old. Good memories.

We have has some unusually warm days this winter, but it normally doesn't get too cold. Feb can be a cold month sometimes, but so far even with the snow, we are not feeling badly done by :)

They have already gone home, but would definitely have enjoyed it. They live in Australia so snow is not something they get to see a lot of. Pity we didn't have enough snow to make snowmen. I would like to have gone out and done that. Maybe next time :)

That is right. He would have got his bottom frozen off in the snow ;)

the photos I posted weren't of the "popcorn" snow but a storm about 2 weeks ago - still some of the stuff lying about.
