Yokohama View
The Landmark Tower in Yokohama gives a great view of the whole City. It is the tallest building in Japan at 296 metres. The view from the 69th floor observatory deck is great on a clear day.

Had a great day at the Anpanman Children's Museum with my sisters children. The museum is near Landmark Tower in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. There is lots to do for the kids with a restaurant and shops as well. Probably worth a half day trip if you are in town.
I have picked my favorite photos that I took in 2009. It took a while to go through the many photos taken in the year. I might have missed a few. Let me know if your favorite is missing from the list.
I went for a short walk on Christmas Day to Odaiba. It was pretty busy and I didn't take the camera out much, but here are a few snaps I took along the…
The Tokyo Midtown office and shopping complex in Roppongi is a great place for a Sunday afternoon stroll. The garden area is full of greenery, and when you are finished you can head back indoors to enjoy the many restaurants and shops.
The Christmas Illuminations have been up for a while at Tokyo Midtown. Each place lit up for Christmas in Tokyo seems to have a different feel to it at night. The main color for Tokyo Midtown felt like it was blue.
Small cats and dogs are popular pets in Japan because they are easier to accommodate in small apartments. Often you will see some cats that live in parks and get fed by passersby. I am not sure whether these cats were owned by someone or just lived in the Tokyo Midtown Roppongi park.
A couple of weeks ago I took a walk along the road leading up to Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery in Meiji Jingu Gaien. It is 300 metres long and lined with Ginkgo trees and they turn a wonderfully bright yellow color at this time of year. Take a walk with me from Aoyama-itchome to go see the trees.
The Omotesando illuminations are back after a number of years absence because they attracted too many crowds making the road too crowded for local residents and businesses. It is good to see the lights back on in Omotesando, but with the switch to eco friendly LED lights, the atmosphere seemed a little bit subdued.
I went on a trip to Mt Fuji to play golf with friends. The weather was perfect and the views of Mt Fuji from the course, amazing. I spent more time snapping photos than hitting golf shots. Every hole seemed to have a better and better view. We played over 2 days at 2 different courses. Hope you enjoy!
Danny Choo has been working with Kotobukiya to publish a book called OTACOOL. It shows some of the coolest rooms of otaku from around the world. This publishing project is a great example of cooperation between blogs, members and brick/mortar companies. Nice work Danny!
On a visit to Kyoto in the Summer I went to Eiga Mura and saw the Ninja Show. The show was good entertainment. I took these shots with my Nikon D700 with no flash. The blue and red lighting on the background make some good contrasts for the photos.
I took a walk up to Meiji Jingu on the weekend. As always, there were lots of other people around and cameras snapping everywhere, but the walk through…
Tokyo is bidding for the 2016 Olympics. With 9 days to go before the decision in Copenhagen, a parade was held in central Tokyo between Harajuku and Omotesando to mark the occasion. The last time Tokyo held the Olympics was in 1964.
Tonight was the Shibuya Nebuta Matsuri (festival) in Center-gai. The float procession was very small but the energy of the participants was high. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, but it did not seem quite a big event to call it a real matsuri. I was expecting a lot more food stalls and floats.
Mockmoon often has some great timelapse and/or tilt shift videos. This one takes a vantage point at the Fune no Kagakukan (船の科学館), Museum of Maritime…
Caught up with Danny Choo who was doing some filming with the BBC TV crew tonight in Akihabara. Looks like Stormtrooper Danny is popular wherever he goes. Between keitai phone photos, flashes popping on normal cameras and the film crew doing their bit, managed to squeeze in a few photos of my own.
A special wedding event was held at the base of the 1/1 Gundam RX78 at Odaiba on August 25, 2009. The couple was chosen out of over 500 entries by T&G wedding planners. They have a new born daughter they have named Sayla (せいら) from the Gundam series.
