No holding back on this one :)
Nice pics. I had a picture of a house of this village a wallpaper for months. You could see a house overlooking a pond (or lake leg).
Incredible place! I'm quite envious... Lol

Gorgeous pictures! I've been here once in February 2007. It was still winter then.
That was my first time seeing so much snow. I felt like I was in a winter wonderland from the past. :D
Thank you so much for sharing these pictures. :)

COOL!!(Literally and figuratively)

Incredible! This may be your best work yet. The colors are amazing and the composition of the images is breathtaking. Shirakawago looks like a portal straight to the past kinda like some of the places I saw in Kyoto where things have not changed much in hundreds of years.

Thank you. That's very nice of you to say so. It was a wonderful day out. I would like to go back when its snowing.

Was there a year ago in spring (takayama, hirayu-onsen ...)
the place is beautiful, try to sleep in one of the house or at least stay until the last bus when all the tourist have left.
There is a nice coffee place with a photo gallery in it in the middle of the village, not too far from the temple.
I saw some pictures of the place in winter, would love to go there in winter, nice and cosy in front of a fire in one of the house with a big storm outside :)

hermoso lugar, sobre todo en invierno! la comida en los hostales es deliciosa, sobre todo porque usan verduras de las montañas.
